Ascension recognizes the importance of athletic competition in the lives of students who participate as players or fans, as well as its importance in the life and culture of the school. Athletics and sports teach participants life lessons beyond the classroom in a structured and safe environment. Ascension is committed to athletic excellence through sound instruction, maximum participation and good sportsmanship at every stage of the school's athletic program.
Organized sports can be an important element of teen development. Ascension fields teams in a wide variety of sports. Team sports offered during the school year include football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, soccer, track, baseball, softball, tennis, swimming, golf, cheerleading and dance. All students in grades 5-12 are eligible to participate.
